We live in a time when our actions or inaction will have a tremendous impact on future generations. Will we leave our children a planet with fresh air and clean water, intact forests and healthy ecosystems? Or will we leave them a plundered and polluted planet where the spotted owl, woodland caribou, monarch butterfly and the killer whale no longer exist?

Call, write to or meet with your elected representative. Writing a personal letters, calling your elected official or asking for a meeting has tremndous impact. If you decide to call don't feel nervous, you often do actually not get to talk to your Member of the Legislated Assembly (MLA), usually you will speak to the secretary or constituency assistant who will convey your message to the MLA. Remember that your MLA is elected to represent the views of their constituents!

Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper and let them know that the issue you are concerned about matters to you. Here are some tips for writing letters to the editor.
