Save the Upper Pitt River!

You stood up for Pinecone Burke Provincial Park, now let's celebrate

Come and join us at the Pitt Meadows Heritage Hall on Saturday, April 12th. All of us together won this battle, and it's time to celebrate. We'll have food, fun, music and dancing. This is a family friendly event, so bring your kids!

The Wilderness Committee will be providing a bus from Vancouver to the party and back. Space on the bus is limited, so please reserve your spaces as soon as possible. We're also looking for 10 or so volunteers to help set up the decorations, tables and chairs ahead of time.

Date and Time: Saturday, April 12th, 4.30 PM 9 PM
Place: Pitt Meadows Heritage Hall, 12460 Harris Road (just south of Lougheed Highway), Pitt Meadows, BC

A very special place

Located just 40 kilometres northeast of Vancouver, the Upper Pitt valley is a remarkable place with hot springs and waterfalls. This area is renowned for its wild salmon and majestic wildlife, including grizzly bears, wolverines and mountain goats. Putting power lines throughout the watershed, and through neighbouring Pinecone Burke Provincial Park, would have serious repercussions for the region’s fish and wildlife populations, and set a terrible precedent for parks in BC.
