The east side of Lake Winnipeg is an immense unbroken boreal forest rich with rushing rivers, abundant wildlife, and Aboriginal culture. These wild lands have enormous global significance for oxygen production and climate regulation. First Nations on both sides of the Manitoba-Ontario border have joined their traditional territories in a nomination for a World Heritage Site almost 1.5 times the size of Vancouver Island. I commend your government for backing this nomination but am concerned about proposed forest-destructive industrial developments that may disrupt planning. Therefore:
