STATEMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL GROUPS WORKING FOR THE PROTECTION OF CLAYOQUOT SOUND TO THE FIRST NATIONS OF CLAYOQUOT SOUND
We want the destruction of the old-growth forests remaining in Clayoquot Sound
stopped immediately. This would include an immediate suspension of all cutting
rights and road building permits in Clayoquot Sound.
We do not condone violence or violent activities.
We support the First Nations' right of ownership in Clayoquot Sound.
We would like to work together with First Nations peoples towards a means
of protecting Clayoquot Sound which includes their continued rights to manage
the lands and waters of Clayoquot Sound.
