Provincial parks are places for recreation, education, wildlife, and conservation of our natural regions and ecosystems. In some of Manitoba's most treasured provincial parks, these vital roles are being severely degraded by the forest-destructive practice of clearcut logging. Presently, 47% of Whiteshell, 62% of Nopiming, and 61% of Duck Mountain provincial parks are available for industrial activity and being harmed by current logging operations. If our parks' natural eco-systems continue to be compromised by large-scale industrial activities, the future survival of species at risk such as woodland caribou and wolverine will be increasingly threatened.
