Kathy Morse

Dear Maple Ridge Mayor Kathy Morse:

Western Canada Wilderness Committee and the Kanaka Creek - Blue Mountain Conservation Group have recently called for the 7,500 hectare Blue Mountain area to be added to Golden Ears Provincial Park to prevent the forests from being cut down and the mountain from being dug up as a gravel supply. The two conservation groups have dubbed the area "Maple Ridge's Backyard Wilderness".

Opinion

In My Opinion request that the Provincial Government protect Blue Mountain as a Provincial Park now before any more trees are cut down! Please send a strongly worded letter in support of park protection for the 7,500 hectare Blue Mountain area to the BC Parks Minister right way.
to do nothing. Mayor and Council should wait and see if the Provincial Government will act on their own to protect Blue Mountain. After all it's a Provincial matter and no business of Maple Ridge Council. So what if trees are cut down in the meantime, there are more important matters for the Mayor and Council to attend to.
