In 2001, the 500,000 hectare Stoltmann Wilderness was the biggest and wildest endangered ancient landscape remaining in Southwest BC. The Stoltmann is home to grizzly bears, wolves, mountain goats, spotted owl and 1300 year old Douglas firs. Logging companies have continued to log within the boundaries of the Stoltmann.
