It's time for BC government to protect mountain caribou habitat. This globally unique caribou is a variety of woodland caribou. They require unbroken tracts of old-growth forest for food and for security from predators. Because of forest fragmentation these caribous are now listed as endangered and their numbers are steadily declining. They need attention now. Please read about how you can help.

You can help protect mountain caribou...

1. Write to BC’s Premier

Legislative Buildings, Victoria, BC V8V 1X4 www.gov.bc.ca
Write a short letter to Premier Gordon Campbell and tell him you support full recovery of all mountain caribou herds. You can see a sample letter at www.mountaincaribou.ca, but your letter will be most effective in your own words.

2. Visit us online at www.mountaincaribou.ca

Send a free fax from the action centre and visit our “Advocate’s Corner” to find out how you can get materials to educate people in your community about the threats to mountain caribou. We have posters you can put up in your town, as well as brochures, postcards and stickers that you can help distribute. Set up an information table at a community event, or organize a presentation – we can send a speaker. There’s lots more online at www.mountaincaribou.ca
