This is a 1985 Wilderness Committee education report about the court case brought by First Nations in Clayoquot Sound to protect Meares Island from logging by MacMillan Bloedel. Tribal Park protection for Meares Island is announced.
The court case eventually resulted in logging being banned on Meares until Aboriginal Title issues are resolved. Today the Wilderness Committee continues to push the BC government to recognize Meares Island's staus as a Tribal Park.
