WCWC celebrates NDP decision to create a big South Chilcotin Mountains Wilderness Park by publishing a "thank you" poster.
""What a wonderful present for all generations to come," commented Joe Foy, Director of Western Canada Wilderness Committee, BC's largest membership based wilderness preservation organization, upon hearing the announcement yesterday that the NDP government chose to create a big 71,000 hectare park in the Southern Chilcotin Mountains. "It's time to celebrate!!!!!"
And so together with the Sierra Club of BC, Outdoor Recreation Council, Greenpeace, Federation of Mountain Clubs of BC, Federation of BC Naturalists, Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Tyax Mountain Lake Resort, Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, the Mayor of the Resort Municipality of Whistler, Valhalla Wilderness Society and 24 other co-publishing conservation, environment organizations and tourism based businesses, WCWC has rushed to print a beautiful poster featuring Spruce Lake in the heart of the new South Chilcotin Mountains Park. The title of the poster is:
LILLOOET'S fabulous SOUTH CHILCOTIN MOUNTAINS
PARK PROPOSED 1937 - PARK CREATED 2001
One of the NDP's greatest Conservation Achievements
For a limited time WCWC will be passing out free copies of this beautiful full-colour poster from its Gastown store at 227 Abbott Street - Thursday, Friday and Saturday April 19-21 from 12 noon to 5pm (one only per person!)
