Western Water and Wildlife Town Hall

Wilderness Committee event
Thursday, February 1, 2018 - 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Please join Wilderness Committee Campaigner Eric Reder and Bird Studies Canada expert Christian Artuso for on-the-ground stories from their western water and wildlife wanderings.

Healthy natural ecosystems support biodiversity and mitigate flood risks, all while providing us with clean air and water. Unfortunately, agricultural development in Manitoba's Western lands has made these natural ecosystems increasingly rare. This town hall will give concerned Manitobans answers to important questions, such as:

How can we preserve natural ecosystems in agricultural land for the public good?
How do we get the benefits of natural ecosystems in developed agricultural lands?
If our rivers are flowing through private lands, how do we improve riverbanks to eliminate downstream nutrient loading?
What environmental protections lessen flood risks?
Where’s the wildlife in our western lands?
What do we need to do to protect our western wildlife?
