Life after Carbon

Wednesday, October 16, 2019 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Coquitlam Public Library, Poirier Branch, Nancy Bennett Program Room

Join Wilderness Committee Climate Campaigner Peter McCartney for an evening of envisioning what post-carbon economy looks like in your Tri-cities community.

Theme: Building and Economy that Lasts in Coquitlam!

Hosted by Wilderness Committee and Nature Force

We've often called for a just transition to a society that does not produce carbon pollution, but what will it actually look like when we get there? It's more than solar panels and electric cars. We need fundamental change to many aspects of daily life — how we grow food, how we get around, how we build our homes, power our cities and create jobs. We'll explore the possibilities of how the Tri-Cities could transform in a post-carbon world and start working to help us get there.

This event is held on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, səl̓ilwətaɁɬ təməxʷ, Kiwkwetlem, Qayqayt and Stó:lō territory.
