Stop the Pipeline Art Build

Wednesday, July 17, 2019 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Victoria Event Centre at 1415 Broad St

Wilderness Committee - Victoria Office is hosting a Stop the Pipeline art build in partnership with Creative Revolution: Collective Arts for Climate Justice.

Just a few weeks ago, the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion through unceded territory was approved for a second time during a climate emergency. We need a new banner for all the upcoming rallies, protests, banner-drops, etc that will be happening to show our opposition and fight this project. This pipeline will never be built! Join us!

We will provide all the materials for banner-making and snacks!

This fun drop-in afternoon is held in collaboration with Creative Revolution: Collective Arts for Climate Justice, a group that hosts "Afternoon Artivism" every 2nd Wednesday at the Victoria Event Centre. Each week they focus on a new art theme to support the efforts of grassroots activists here on Lkwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ territories. Through arts-focused organizing, skill building and collaborative action, they work to spark and nurture the empowerment and resilience required in our community to prevent and respond to complex social and ecological crises.

Accessibility at the Victoria Event Centre – Unfortunately, the VEC is not a wheelchair accessible space and can be difficult for people with mobility restrictions to access. For details on the accessibility of the VEC please click here,

Territory Acknowldgement - This event is taking place on Lkwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ territories that are unceded. Let's work together to confront the harms of colonization when we meet to create.
