Kegan is a staff lawyer at Ecojustice, Canada’s largest environmental law charity. His practice is focused on protecting at-risk species and challenging major fossil fuel projects. He also works to reform laws and policies to provide greater protection for species, spaces and our climate. Prior to his career in law, Kegan studied and worked in microfinance, where he focused on extending access to credit through group and community lending models. He now uses his legal education to offer support for environmental organizations and to low-income individuals through the Access Pro Bono Society of BC. Shaped by his upbringing on a small Gulf Island, Kegan spends most of his time exploring forests, climbing mountains and frolicking in the ocean.
