The BC government has recently approved the Jumbo Glacier Ski Resort despite fierce and long-time opposition from local people and many groups province-wide. The Wilderness Committee has vowed to join with many other groups and individuals to help keep the Jumbo area in the Kootenays wild forever. Among the values at risk are the Purcel Mountain grizzly bear population.
