The Wilderness Committee's Peter McCartney debates Chris Gardner, president of the Independent Cotnractors and Business Association of British Columbia, over the Kinder Morgan pipeline.

The British Columbia government has applied for intervener status in court challenges against the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion.

Earlier this month the NDP government announced it would be joining the legal fight against the approval of the $7.4-billion project and hired former judge Thomas Berger to provide legal advice.

First Nations groups and several municipalities have filed legal challenges against this project. The pipeline expansion would triple the capacity of the Alberta-to-B.C. pipeline and also up the number of tankers in the waters around Vancouver.
