Joanna Arantxa Garcia Cortes
Arantxa (she/her) is originally from Mexico City, a vibrant and busy metropolis that sparked her interest in understanding the complex challenges facing our environment.
She resides in Vancouver, on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and səlilwətaɬ territories. With a background in Business Management, and a diploma in Data Engineering and Analytics, Arantxa leads groups of people in raising awareness about the environmental challenges facing British Columbia. She engages communities in our campaigns to emphasize the importance of financial support to sustain and expand the meaningful work being done to protect this beautiful region.
She believes that knowledge, combined with empathy and love for our planet and all its inhabitants, deserves respect, protection and action to ensure a thriving future. In her free time she loves spending time with her 14-year-old cat, playing tennis, engaging in meaningful conversations about the environment, animal rights and society’s capacity for positive change through consciousness, compassion and awareness.
