Give Later: Wills and Estates
Make Your Lifelong Love Of Nature Last
Leaving a gift in your will or estate plan to the Wilderness Committee is expressing your love for nature and wildlife in a lasting way. Make a gift to become a guardian of species and places, ensuring forests, waters and wildlife continue to thrive for generations to come. Include the Wilderness Committee when you write or update your will, and let us know so we can count you in as a Wilderness Guardian.

Becoming a Wilderness Guardian
When trees fall, they rejoin the forest. Known as nurse trees, they provide shelter for life, nourishment for young saplings and thriving habitat for plants and animals. That’s why we call supporters who leave future gifts to us Wilderness Guardians. When you make a gift in your will or estate to the Wilderness Committee, you create the conditions needed for generations of wildlife to flourish. In this way, your gift ensures your love for nature endures.
The power of your promise
We don’t know exactly what the future holds. Species and ecosystems that are safe today could be in danger tomorrow. New frontlines to fight for nature emerge with every new industrial project that gets the green light. And the extreme weather patterns brought on by the climate crisis further threaten the stability of the places and species we rely on.
Your future gift to the Wilderness Committee will go where it’s needed most, whether it’s mobilizing everyday people to defend endangered species and habitat or new research that’ll help us push for bold climate action. And, your promise ensures we can remain a nimble, independent voice for a stable climate and much-loved nature and wildlife.
Getting started
When naming us as a beneficiary, please refer to us as the Western Canada Wilderness Committee and include our Canadian Charitable Registration # 11929-3009-RR0001. This will avoid any confusion regarding your intent.
We put gifts towards where they’re needed most, but we recognize that you may feel connected to special areas of our work. If you have specifics in mind, please get in touch or consult our Gift Acceptance Policy. We will work to meet your wishes.

“The Wilderness Committee has been an invaluable part of my journey, educating me and encouraging me to do better by nature.
Being a monthly donor is part of the way I give back, but more importantly, as a legacy donor, I know that when my time is finished, my estate will ensure the future of the Wilderness Committee is a little more secure. Thank you for all you do to educate, advocate and protect.”
