Less Than One-Fifth Of Canada Is Safe For Wildlife

Nature needs your support to survive. And real talk, you and I need nature to survive too. Clean water, fresh air and strong ecosystems keep our communities healthy and the economy turning. Your donation makes protecting lands, waters and species (including us humans) all possible.

Protecting nature changes everything

Every acre of land protected makes a difference. The Wilderness Committee works to turn back the clock on climate change and habitat-destroying industrial activity, in partnership with Indigenous leaders. Your donation is a demand for stronger laws and conservation efforts that put the planet before profit.

They’re depending on you

Canada has more than 700 federally listed at-risk species. B.C. lists as many as 1,900 at-risk species. Iconic species like caribou, sage-grouse and spotted owl depend on you for safe passage within their habitat.

Photo of Wilderness Committee donor

From a very young age, my heart has been drawn to plants and animals occurring in nature. Since 1970, I have been actively involved in conservation efforts in British Columbia. After visiting the Wilderness Committee’s Vancouver office, I was smitten! And have gladly supported their work for about 30 years.

It seems cost-effective with a “down-to-earth” attitude. We have shared concerns and values. It feels like the Wilderness Committee is “doing the work for me” (and at my age, that means a lot!).
