Chad Carney‑Leahy
Chad (he/him) currently resides in Vancouver on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and səlilwətaɬ territories.
Chad is responsible for leading the Wilderness Committee's fundraising mail program from idea inception to the post office and everything in between. He also cares dearly about donors and leads stewardship related activities. He worked as a carpenter before becoming a door-to-door canvasser, then the Vancouver canvass director for the Wilderness Committee and next the distributions and operations coordinator before moving into his position on the Fund Development Team. He came by his love of nature honestly as his mother was an environmental activist arrested in Clayoquot Sound in the 90s. He grew up in Squamish, an old logging town that was quickly turning into an eco-tourism hub. Listening to punk bands talk about environmental protection brought Chad’s two passions together and he set out to find a way to bring permanent protection to the wild places he loves.
