Make Manitoba Budget for Nature in 2026
It’s budget time in Manitoba, and we need you to tell your government to budget for nature and climate care.
Manitoba is only spending 0.88 per cent of its budget on environmental conservation. The $196 million spent in 2025 does not meet the moment and the crises we face.
In contrast, jurisdictions such as Finland and Denmark, spend between 1.5 per cent and 2 per cent of their budget on environmental protection. There’s also a call to spend 2 per cent more on climate to reach the global emissions goals.
Tell the Manitoba government it needs to do better. They need to set aside 2 per cent of their 2026 budget for environment protection.
Your letter will go to Premier Wab Kinew, Minister of Finance Adrien Sala, Environment and Climate Change Minister Mike Moyes, Opposition leader Obby Kahn, your MLA, and our campaigner.
