We're going on tour along the Salish Sea!

Wednesday, June 17, 2015

We are embarking on an epic solar-powered catamaran journey to celebrate the Salish Sea and the communities along its shores. The boat will dock in six communities, so we can speak with people about the threats facing this unique body of water, share stories and connect with community members interested in taking on the challenge of climate change locally.

The 2015 Salish Sea Tour is organized by the Wilderness Committee, Tanker Free BC, Salish Sea Keepers and Vancouver-based musician Luke Wallace.

At each stop, we're inviting members of the public to view the boat, visit our info booth and enjoy Luke's inspiring live music. We'll also be sharing stories about how local people in the region are taking action to address climate change in their communities, and looking at how we can continue to work towards protecting the Salish Sea from new fossil fuel projects like the Kinder Morgan tar sands pipeline. We want you to be part of the conversation!

In addition to the dockside fun, we also have some exciting evening events planned on Salt Spring Island, Pender Island and in Victoria – featuring local musicians, storytelling and community discussion.
