Goldstream Park is under threat from a harmful highway expansion project. Join us for a walk through this stunning, biodiverse landscape and hear directly from Tsartlip Elder Carl Olsen, who has been fighting the expansion for over two years.

On October 5, from 1 to 3 p.m., we’ll gather for a guided walk and talk along the Goldstream River. This isn’t just a hike. It’s an opportunity to connect with the land, understand what’s at stake and learn from Elder Carl Olsen about the ongoing efforts to protect this vital ecosystem.

The towering trees, salmon-bearing river and the Douglas Treaty Rights, rooted in this land, are already under strain from climate change. Now, the proposed Malahat highway widening — an expansion that wouldn’t even add new lanes — poses yet another serious threat to this fragile ecosystem.

Let’s hear from Elder Carl Olsen about why halting this project is so important, and explore how to be part of the growing movement to protect Goldstream Park and defend this irreplaceable place.

This event is free and open to all. This is your chance to deepen your connection to the land and speak up for biodiversity and Douglas Treaty commitments.
