Goldstream park is under threat from a 162-million-dollar highway construction project that will  destroy salmon habitat and won’t even add more lanes!

On October 22, 2025, we’re taking the dissent to the front door of the B.C. legislature to demand an end to this senseless project.

WSÁNEĆ Elder Carl Olsen has been leading the movement to stop the expansion of the Malahat highway at Goldstream Provincial Park for almost two years. The expansion would infringe upon the WSÁNEĆ Peoples’ Treaty Rights, including the right to fish and steward the land. It will destroy critical salmon habitat and cut down more than 700 trees — many of which are ancient.  

It’s time to amplify Elder Carl Olsen’s voice and show the B.C. government that he is not alone.
