Elaho reunion campout

Saturday, September 12, 2009

In September of 2009 several folks who had worked hard in 1999 and 2000 to see the ancient forests in the Upper Elaho Valley saved from International Forest Products' chainsaws, and some of their friends got together one weekend for a reunion campout at Lava Camp. It was awesome knowing that the Upper Elaho is a Squamish Nation Wild Spirit Place, recently recognized by the government of BC and off-limits to logging. May the giants stand for another thousand years. Thanks to all those who stood for the trees!

Here's more information about the history of the Wilderness Committee's campaign to save the Elaho and other Squamish Nation Wild Spirit Places.
