Wilderness Committee representatives will join supporters and forest preservation advocates for a rally outside the provincial courthouse in Victoria Monday, ahead of a court hearing over logging company Teal Jones’ injunction application for the Walbran Valley.

According to a press release from the committee, Teal Jones was initially granted an interim injunction in late November 2015, in an effort to prevent protesters from interfering with the company’s logging operations.

After being granted another injunction in December – which is set to expire on Jan. 4 - Teal Jones is applying to the BC Supreme Court for a further interim injunction that would limit public access in the old-growth forest until September 2016. The Wilderness Committee has been named by the company in this court application.

Citizens opposed to logging in the Walbran Valley will gather in front of the courthouse to speak out against Teal Jones’ logging operations in this rare old-growth forest at 9 a.m.
