Beth is responsible for managing the organization including strategic planning, board governance, fundraising, finance and human resources. She started working at the Wilderness Committee because she was impressed with the social justice framework we use when addressing environmental issues. Before this, Beth worked for a variety of social justice non-profits in diverse sectors for more than 25 years. She has a Masters in Sociology and Social Studies focused on organizational development and has worked in countries in Africa, Latin and South America in international development. Hailing from the prairies of Canada, she enjoys spending time in Saskatchewan with her family, or in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica with her son's family. She is also active on her housing co-op board of directors.
