National Canvass Director
Shaine Macleod

Shaine (he/him) currently resides in Toronto on the traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit, Anishnaabeg, Chippewa, Haudenosaunee and Wendat.

Shaine trains and mentors a diverse group of people to spread knowledge about the campaigns we work on across Ontario. Shaine works from the traditional territory of Mississaugas of the Credit, Anishnaabeg, Chippewa, Haudenosaunee and Wendat. The knowledge he shares helps people understand our work and he hopes that, because of this, they will want to support us financially. Shaine believes in connecting with the public through important environmental and social justice information and is happy that we do this type of community engagement at the Wilderness Committee. He works with a great group of canvassers that work year in and year out, in hot and cold weather, in the rain and snow, as they're committed to helping spread news of what we are working on. Shaine loves the outdoors – a reason why he was drawn towards canvassing. He enjoys visiting Canada’s provincial parks to camp, hike, swim and canoe. In his spare time, he enjoys biking, walking and strategy games.
