Recently we have been contacted by representatives of the Provincial Environment Ministry to set up a meeting to review the new boundaries of BC's Spotted Owl Management Areas. We are told that when the new boundaries are set by government, logging will no longer be allowed within them. If this is true it will be a big step forward, provided the Spotted Owl Management Areas remain large enough to encompass several hundred thousand hectares. Currently logging is allowed in the management areas - all the photos of logging featured on this page have been taken in Spotted Owl Management Areas.
