Defend Nature

Jeremy Sean Williams

People powered protection

For more than 45 years, we’ve worked alongside communities, allies, scientists, lawyers and people like you to give nature a voice. Across Canada, from peatlands to old-growth forests and the at-risk species in between, we’ve worked to oppose reckless development, advocate for stronger laws, and support innovative solutions that prioritize climate stability, biodiversity and cultural rights.

Now, more than ever, we're amplifying our collective voices to build the just, sustainable future that our survival depends on.

Featured Campaign

Justice For People, Protection For Nature

Environmental justice recognizes how systems of oppression like racism and colonialism create unfair impacts on specific communities. When governments and industries prioritize profit over the wellbeing of people and the planet, its Indigenous Peoples, racialized communities, women, the working and middle class, and people with disabilities who bear the heaviest burdens.

Our fight must always prioritize Indigenous rights, keep communities safe, preserve livelihoods, and uphold dignity for our friends, families and neighbours.
