Protest over the BC provincial government’s controversial $8.8-billion Site C hydro-electric dam project is heating up, with first nations and environmental groups launching a new wave of opposition just as construction crews begin to break ground. The government says the province will need the energy, but some environmental groups beg to differ. Today on RegWatch hear from Gwen Barlee, national policy director for the Wilderness Committee, which since 1980 has been at the forefront of efforts to protect and preserve wildlife and wilderness.
