For the Love of Wild Salmon: A Valentine's Day message from the Wilderness Committee

Friday, February 11, 2011

Victoria -- This Valentine’s Day the Wilderness Committee will be showing their love for wild salmon with an action targeting morning commuters.

“We will be out in force to show our love for wild Pacific salmon and the vital role they have on our coast,” said Tria Donaldson, Pacific Coast Campaigner at the Wilderness Committee.

"We're sick and tired of various levels of government breaking our hearts by allowing salmon farms all along the coast," said Donaldson. “That's why we will be handing out heart-shaped stickers and talking to people about the impact salmon farms have on wild salmon.”

The Wilderness Committee and its supporters will be out in force with signs, action cards, and Valentine’s themed goodies!

When: February 14th, 8:30 am –9:30

Where: 1150 Douglas Street, in front of the Bay Centre

The Victoria action is one of four actions happening across BC to draw attention to the need to protect our wild salmon.
