Paddle for the Peace

Saturday, July 09, 2011

This is a Wilderness Committee On The Ground Report about the Paddle for the Peace event which took place on July 9, 2011. This is an annual gathering on the Peace River near Fort St John where people paddle their canoe's, kayaks, rafts etc down the river to bring attention to the fight to stop the proposed Site C Dam from drowning the Peace River Valley under a reservoir. This year heavy rains caused the organizers to cancel the paddle - but people still gathered to celebrate the river and make plans to stop the dam. Join the Wilderness Committee's Joe Foy and Tria Donaldson as they head to Peace River country. For more info see our Protect the Peace report.
