Energetic City

A debate about Site C is happening this afternoon, and a rally to oppose the project seems to be happening outside of the BC Legislature building in Victoria.

Torrance Coste with the Wildnerness Committee said people gathered were chanting “Save the Peace” loudly outside of the building.

Others also chimed in on twitter under the #SiteC tag.
The debates today will help determine the future of the Site C project.

Minister of Energy Bill Bennett will be heading the debate, putting out this motion.

Be it resolved that this House supports the construction of the Site C Clean Energy Project; because the Site C Clean Energy Project represents the most affordable way to generate 1,100 megawatts of clean and reliable power; and the Site C Clean Energy Project will create jobs for thousands of British Columbians; and the Site C Clean Energy Project has been the subject of a thorough environmental review process.
